Jessica’s Winter Maternity Photo Shoot

After a romantic wedding session (with horses!) with her last spring I was thrilled to plan Jessica’s winter maternity photo shoot this year! Jessica is just the best kind of model and was willing to try whatever I suggested. Including “a red dress with a headpiece and aspens and SNOW!” as I exclaimed when she first asked me about planning her session. I created the feather head piece with a 20’s feel in mind, complimented by the faux fur cowl, and I knew the red would pop against the snow and her stunning blonde hair. Western Colorado was experiencing some unseasonably warm weather Valentine’s Day weekend but a short drive to Glade Park provided us with all the snow and aspens we could want! Possibly a little *more* snow than we really needed based on the number of times I got stuck and nearly fell. Anything to get the shot!

When we captured these images the baby’s gender was still a secret. I admire parents with the self-control to wait any length of time to find out (and especially those who want to be surprised at the birth)! My type A personality needs to know ALL the information as soon as possible so I can plan every last detail accordingly. BUT here’s a list of reasons why waiting to find out can be the most fun ever (at least according to the Huffington Post)! I find number two especially funny. Last weekend the big question was answered for this gorgeous mama at her gender reveal party. Congratulations on your baby boy Jess; I can’t wait to meet him!!
