WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO

San Antonio Family Photographer | Pearl District Family Session

When you’re a military family you’re always on the lookout for new friends. You move to a new place, you find friends, then they move on or you do, and the hunt starts again. It’s hard, and sometimes it’s lonely and a little sad, but there are some upsides! For instance, you end up with awesome people spread all over the world!

When my friend Kate heard I would be visiting San Antonio for Easter and asked me about a session for her adorable boys I could hardly wait! Not only are they two of the most fun kids I know, I would get to shoot them in one of the coolest urban spots I’ve seen! A San Antonio Pearl District family session is the best way to spend an afternoon!
No visit to the Pearl District is complete without a stop at The Lick Ice Creamery. (My personal favorite flavor was the Ladybird Lavender Crisp.) And no photo shoot is complete without a foot race, of course.pearl district family session
Kate says that this scene, big brother in front and little brother doing his best to keep up, is pretty typical for them, but neither of them seem to mind too much. 2017-05-07_0002.jpg

The San Antonio Pearl District is also home to a branch of the Culinary Institute of America. They have the most amazing reclaimed tank flowerbeds right outside their kitchen windows filled with actual veggies and herbs! We were all equally fascinated by the brussel sprouts on their stalks. Little brother picked them for his photo.

The San Antonio Pearl District offers a wonderful diversity of colors and textures. Both of these boys were ready to fearlessly explore every nook and cranny!

We wrapped things up with a quick game of “Simon Says.” Simon says put your hands up. Simon says touch your toes. Simon says touch your nose. Touch your ears. Big brother won the foot race, but little brother takes this game! 2017-05-07_0009.jpg
