These two so clearly shared a passion for each other, for their families, and for God. It was written all over everyone’s faces all day long. Lots of laughter, lots of tears, lots of love. All the things that make a wedding day unforgettable. And if there was ever a groom more in love with his bride, I have yet to meet him. Wait until you see Steven’s face when he sees Maggie walk down the aisle!
Our exciting adventure documenting Steven and Maggie’s passionate Phoenix wedding took us from their home church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel to the Tempe Center for the Arts and finally to Villa Tuscana for their reception. I absolutely fell in LOVE with the incredible stained glass at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel! It made the perfect backdrop for Maggie and Steven’s unique rings (aaaaand maybe for a kiss if you scroll down a bit).
Among other fabulous wedding reception services Villa Tuscana has some pretty killer chandeliers in their reception halls! This one made the perfect display for Maggie’s beautiful gown. They also provided the bride and her bridesmaids with a charming room to finish her hair and makeup before departing for the ceremony.
Check out these adorable succulent boutonnieres for Steven and his groomsmen! I’m a total sucker for succulents (and bad puns apparently) and love finding them in details at weddings. They make wonderful bouquets and boutonnieres because they are tough little fellows – none of the wilting or browning you have to worry about with hydrangeas and roses! I love the touches of purple in these too.
They look pretty darn good once you put them on too! Though being a handsome hunk of a groom probably doesn’t hurt either. Can you tell from that smile that he’s a kind, funny, and awesome person too? Because he totally is.
If you can judge a groom’s character by the caliber of his groomsmen then that too speaks of Steven’s warm and kind personality. This group of guys were so excited to support Maggie and Steven as they promised their lives to one another.
Maggie wrote Steven a special note and gave it to me to deliver with specific instructions to have him read it just before the ceremony. I don’t know what was in it, but whatever it was, it was real and beautiful and brought her groom to tears.
One of the many beautiful examples of the passion prevalent throughout the day was the moment when all the special women in Maggie’s life prayed over her and her commitment to Steven. Authentic and emotional moments like this are why I love weddings! It was so beautiful to witness!
Did I tell you? Did I TELL YOU?! This dude when he saw his lady….
Our Lady of Mt Carmel was a stunning backdrop for Maggie and Steven’s passionate Phoenix wedding. Their catholic wedding ceremony was filled with deeply meaningful moments.
The stained glass at Our Lady of Mt Carmel – just WOW. Perfect backdrop for a special kiss between the newest husband and wife!
After their ceremony at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Maggie and Steven and their bridal party (and their loyal photographers) headed over to the Tempe Center for the Arts. It made the perfect urban, fun backdrop for the second leg of their passionate phoenix wedding!
In classic Phoenix style, Mother Nature delivered a desert sunset for the city’s newest husband and wife team. I love the way Maggie’s dress caught the breeze!
These two were so in love! It’s always a pleasure to photograph two people who find so much joy in just being together. The way they look at each other is enough to make anyone believe in the magic of true love.
The Tempe Center for the Arts offers a wonderful diversity of wedding photography options. From the urban lines of the bridge to the lush lawn surround by trees as well as swaths of cacti for that touch of dessert.
Off the the reception at Villa Tuscana! Check out Maggie and Steven’s charmingly simple succulent wedding cake!
And speaking of adorable, simple touches, I loved watching Maggie and Steven during their feet washing ceremony. Everything about their wedding was honest and real and filled with SO MUCH GENUINE LOVE.
There was no moment where their love for each other spoke louder than during their first dance as man and wife. And Steven’s dipping skills are ON POINT!
Congratulations to these two amazing people and all the other amazing people who love them! We were all very lucky to be witnesses to your passionate Phoenix wedding!
