– MEET THE HUDSONS –

We got married before Pinterest.

-

Our biggest fight ever was over a donut.

-

Misty taught Nate how to clean fish, but now he out-catches her every time.

-

She packs the camper, he drives the truck.

-

She cooks dinner, he does the dishes.

-

We wanted a girl, but it turns out boys are more our speed (they're really cool).

We know

We know that when we work as a team it makes every part of life easier to take on (and a whole lot more fun). We love bringing our joy and faith to weddings and walking with couples as they take their first steps on this crazy marriage adventure.

-

It's a delight and a privilege to celebrate love in its fullest bloom over and over again. And it keeps our own commitment ever green and growing.

Food is kind of a big deal to me. I'm not above reveling in some Five Guys fries, but a tasting menu with a wine pairing is my idea of heaven.

-

Also CAKE.

-

I am a bibliophile and love all books, but fantasy and sci-fi will always have my heart.

-

Everything is better with a dog. Especially weddings.

-

I grew up almost entirely outside with horses and a fishing pole.

-

If you tell me something will be hard that makes me about twenty times more likely to do it.

-

I am paradoxically proud and also slightly embarrassed that wherever I go I can never be more or less than myself. There's only one version of me, and that's the same one who will show up bright and early on your wedding day. (Probably with too many snacks in her bag.)

I'm an active duty SGT 1st Class in the US Army. I've deployed to the Middle East twice in my career.

-

You might hear Misty call me "DJ Natey Nate," but that's not because I was ever a DJ. It's actually a nickname from our own bachelor/bachelorette party over ten years ago.

-

I prefer hard cider to beer. (Yes, Misty also judges me harshly for this.)

-

I'm a former ice skating competitor and coach. Now I'm teaching our oldest son to skate so that he can take up hockey.

-

If I stay in the house for 24 straight hours it makes me crazy.

-

I'm allergic to cats. But we have one. It sleeps in our bed. Marriage is sacrifice.

-

I love finding new ways to tell a wedding story through video. It's a medium with limitless possibilities and I never stop learning.

YOU WANT US ON YOUR TEAM IF:

You want to plan a wedding adventure that is unapologetically YOU.

-

You want photos and videos of your big moments, small moments, and in between moments that are authentic and REAL

-
You enjoy jokes of medium quality and people who laugh excessively at them.

YOU MIGHT *NOT* WANT US IF:

You are planning a wedding because it makes other people happy.

-

You're looking for a team to show up on your day, do the job, and head out. We are passionate about your love story and your wedding! We want to be a resource for you to plan your perfect day, whether that's an intimate celebration or an adventure with just the two of you. We're here for the whole journey.

Wanna get to know us better?

A FEW OF OUR

Meet The Artist

My name is Misty Hudson and I am Folly Photography. As a military spouse and mom to two small children rapid (i.e. unexpected and terrifying) change is an inevitable part of my life. I know first hand that beautiful, irreplaceable, every day moments pass us by so quickly that their true value is often realized only in hazy recollection. I believe that something that seems ordinary, like the look between a couple as they walk side by side, or the way a toddler holds his daddy’s hand so tightly, is actually precious and deserves to be frozen in time, cherished always, and passed on to future generations. My passion is story telling through photographic and video art that is vibrant, emotional, and natural.

When I don’t have a camera glued to my face I love to read books of every genre (though I generally am more on the “Lord of the Rings” end of the spectrum) and to eat pastries of every flavor. My minor obsession with cake may or may not, in fact, be a large part of why I love weddings so much. I am also a camping, fishing, and hiking enthusiast and that’s often what my family of four plus two dogs can be found doing in our free time. While military life poses its challenges it also offers us an ever-changing backdrop to explore (and, of course, photograph)! My family is my constant inspiration and I feel incredibly blessed to not only be sharing my life with them but also to be sharing in the lives of the families who hire me to photograph them.

So, let’s meet for coffee (or cake, did I mention I like cake?) and chat about how we can tell the story of the next amazing chapter in your life together!

Wish you could ask me a few more questions right now? Wish granted. Check out this post with my answers to the five best questions when hiring a wedding photographer.
