Susan and Tim’s Lyons Farmette wedding is pure proof that not even a pandemic can stop true love. I love it when a wedding acts as a little sample of what marriage as a whole can be like. Life can throw you some pretty dang crazy curve balls, which leaves you and your spouse, as a team, to decide what’s really important to you and make some tough choices. Susan and Tim decided that:
- Keeping people they love safe was important.
- They really, really, really wanted to marry each other and waiting another year to do that just wasn’t going to work.
So they compromised with an intimate ceremony this year and a big party for their loved ones next year. And it. was. perfect.

My favorite feature of a Lyons Farmette wedding? Hands down the Airstream where one half of the couple can get ready. After selling our own little camper in preparation for our transfer to Europe, Nate and I are consoling ourselves with the dream of our own little Airstream when we eventually come back to the states. Then adding the gorgeous Susan and her beautiful wedding day details as window dressing have only added gas to the fire!
Susan had no idea that Tim had written her a letter and picked out a unique necklace for her, and that guy knocked it out of the park. It was the perfect accent for Susan’s ensemble. Tim, you can pick out my jewelry any time you like.
Between her teal wedding shoes and the stunning bouquet from Plume and Furrow, Susan’s whole vibe was perfect for a summer evening at the Lyons Farmette, which has its own flower fields (keep scrolling for photos of THAT).
While Susan used the Airstream, Tim and The Boys were in the equally charming big house for their final getting ready moments.
Plume and Furrow killin’ it all over as seen in Tim’s summer flower boutonniere.
Guyssssssss! I gotta tell ya’. This first look was not any less real or any less special because 100 people weren’t sitting at the ceremony site when it went down. Wedding days really are, at their very core, all about the two people getting married. You don’t need 100 guests for that!
HOW CUTE IS THIS LYON’S FARMETTE CEREMONY SITE BY THE RIVER?! Shout out to As You Wish planning for helping to make it as lovely and magical as it could be!
Reverand Kim Tavendale was the perfect choice to officiate Susan and Tim’s ceremony. She is so kind and smooooooth! And her kiwi accent doesn’t hurt the experience either (though she probably gets tired of hearing that).
Look at this family peeps! These boys were the life of the party all day, and they clearly love Tim and Susan so very much!
They were also an excellent Bouquet Team and made sure Susan’s flowers ended up right where they needed to be. I will never get over this summer wedding bouquet, and I won’t apologize for it!!
I might also have been just a little too excited about their wedding pie.
But I wasn’t the only one. 🤷♀️
Next let’s take a second and talk about how gorgeous Susan, Tim, their wedding attire, and this light at the Lyons Farmette are. It could not have been more perfect, friends and neighbors.
Congratulations Susan and Tim! I am so very glad that Nate and I got to be a part of your celebration. Thank you for giving us all a little bit of hope and beauty when so many things are a struggle right now! May it be paid back to you a hundred fold, and may your 2021 reception absolutely ROCK YOUR SOCKS OFF!
